Dr. Chris Tonozzi has performed thousands of vasectomies since training in the no-scalpel technique during his family medicine residency in 1995, and now completes 70+ procedures per month, placing him among the most experienced vasectomy providers in the country. He founded Go Vasectomy LLC in 2020 to concentrate his practice on high-volume, no-scalpel vasectomy care.
Dr. Tonozzi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1984, and a medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1991. He finished his family medicine residency in 1995 at the University of Colorado and became board certified in family medicine. He trained in no-scalpel vasectomy during residency and furthered his vasectomy training in 2021 under the world renowned vasectomist Doug Stein in Tampa Bay, Florida. Dr. Tonozzi is licensed in the state of Colorado.
Since 1999, Dr. Tonozzi has practiced family medicine at Mountain Family Health Centers, a federally qualified health center he helped found in Glenwood Springs in the late 1990s that has since grown to include clinics in Rifle, Basalt, and Avon. Over more than two decades there, he has held Medical Director, Quality Improvement Director, and Information Technology Director roles alongside direct patient care, and he has been active on staff at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. He has also taught as an Assistant Clinical Professor with the University of Colorado Department of Family Medicine since 1997.
His medical career has also taken him beyond Colorado. In 2010, he served as ship physician for Semester at Sea, acting as medical director for 700 students and staff on a voyage through Europe, Africa, and Asia. In 2015, he founded Global Go Care, providing virtual medical consultations for travelers
Dr. Tonozzi is fluent in Spanish and has built a following among Latino members of the communities he serves.
He is married with two grown children, and outside of Go Vasectomy, he enjoys staying active with family and friends through backcountry and Nordic skiing, mountain biking, running, kayaking, traveling, and cooking.
